I can’t remember how long we have been coming to AIDL because it just feels like an extension of home to us. My son is medically fragile and globally delayed. He receives many different therapies but specifically at AIDL he receives speech therapy. To say that he loves his therapist and has made huge strides in his development with her is an understatement. The environment is simply perfect for us. AIDL is not just a place that we receive therapy it, it’s a place we find community. They host so many events for the kids and their families. From movie nights to trunk or treat to pictures with Santa. We’ve even had the opportunity to drop off our son and spend an hour or two away as a “Parents Night Out”. One need only visit their social media pages to realize how much fun these kids have at therapy and how loved they are by their therapist.

We are so happy to have found AID-L! After receiving services elsewhere and seeing my son's increasing dread of the visits, I knew it was time for a change. From the first day at AID-L, I knew we were in a special place. My son now not only enjoys his visits, but even asks to go on days he's not scheduled. As a parent, that is so reassuring. Every person on the AID-L team has obvious love and compassion for the children they see and their families. My son's growth since starting speech services with AID-L in December of 2020 has been amazing! He has come so far, in so many ways. I believe the understanding and patient help in learning, that he has experienced from these wonderful people, has played a huge part in that growth. They have helped me to grow also, as his parent. His therapists have always been so helpful. I can't say enough about how much their communication, encouragement, and support has meant to me. I have always felt welcome to observe and ask questions. I value their knowledgeable feedback and have learned so much from each of them. We are so thankful to AID-L, not only for the terrific therapy services, but also the above and beyond “extras” they have during the year. Events such as the Saturday Socials, respite care, and Sensory Santa are just a couple of ways AID-L goes the extra mile looking out for the children and their families. We appreciate so much what they do. Recently I was asking my son to tell me the names of the people in our family. In his list, he included the names of his therapists. I really think that says it all.

My son had an amazing time at the Social Saturday Feeding Group! He had fun spending time with his peers being a Sustenance Scientist and learning through play. Our therapist, Tara did an amazing job putting together this event and we are so appreciative of all her hard work!”

My daughter has been in speech therapy before but it was always a hassle to get her to actually participate. Our therapist, Claire has changed that narrative and my daughter absolutely adores her. Three sessions in and my daughter is already saying complete sentences when she responds to questions! The process was quick and I feel like we’re finally home!
